Women’s participation in administration is not just a matter of gender equality; it brings diverse perspectives to public policy. Women often bring unique insights and solutions to issues such as healthcare, education, and social welfare. Their involvement can lead to more comprehensive and inclusive policies that benefit all sections of society. Moreover, having women in leadership roles can inspire and empower other women, creating a positive ripple effect across communities.In India, women’s representation in civil services has seen a gradual increase over the years. However, this representation is still far from satisfactory. Most women in civil services occupy lower-level positions, and their presence in decision-making roles is minimal. According to the 2019 data from the Department of Personnel and Training, women constitute approximately 13% of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 16% of the Indian Police Service (IPS), and 20% of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
