Music Perception and Congnition by Padma Iyer (Hardcover)

Music is an acoustic medium. Every aspect of musical structure which allows compositions to differ from one another is conveyed in the sound- pressure waves which make up a musical performance. However, music- listening can be considered as a complex interaction of the processes of perception, cognition, problem solving, analogical and metaphorical reasoning, and emotional mapping.
