Misery of Leadership: A Holistic Approach to Good Leadership stresses on holistic sustainable rural development, and observes deficient performers in leadership positions on the side of government, administration, judiciary, and in Indian enterprises, too. At the same time, the cry for "Leaders" is almost deafeningly strong. The book shows clearly that the root cause of most of the problems in present-day India is hardly quality leadership, but people in leadership positions hardly come up to expectations. The book describes the classical "Brown-Sahib-dom", the lack of visions, and the all-pervading bureaucratic overkill. The latter functions conveniently as a surface for looking terribly busy while doing nothing.
