There is no iota of doubt that the influence of China in South Asia is growing so also is India's security concern. China is trying to play and expand its influence in commensurate with its position and strength. There is concern about China's policy of containment of India, marked by growing Chinese interests in South Asian countries. China has built up economic and defence relations with South Asian countries. China's all weather friendship' with Pakistan has helped China to follow its grand strategy in South Asia to contain India. China's major objective has been to prevent the rise of India and to dilute India's dominance in South Asia region.
