This course is to expose students to the philosophical foundations of Social Work and examine the historical development of the Social work generally worldwide and specifically in Ghana. Learning objectives: after reading this course you should be able to: (i) Identify definitive of Social Work (ii) Determine the descriptive of Social Work (iii) Establish the history and philosophy of Social work (iv) Apply its implication to theory and practice of Social Work in Ghana Course SOWK251 has been designed in three (3) parts. And they are: Part I: What Social Work Is Part II: The History of Social Work Part III: Philosophy of Social Work.
