Beauty pageant is a prominent phenomenon in the Twentieth Century born out its own exceptional circumstances. It is a consciousness which carried the concept of equality to a more radical level than ever before obviously, the modern women writers and their women-critics were affected by the storm of new idea, as is evident from the preoccupation in their fiction with a number of emergent serious issues concerning women that marks this era. The theme of women's  emancipation and her position within the family and in the society persistently costs a shadows of serious concern among the female critics.
