In the classroom of today most learning takes place through oral commuication. Much of the academic material is presented by the teacher orally. Books, maps, pictures, films, serve as guides and supplementary material but most of the burden is still the teacher's as many a raw throats at the end of a hard teaching day will testify. She recognises that oral communication can be the most interesting, the most stimulating and the most rewarding of all teaching methods.
